Dark cake base
300 g butter
6 cups of sugar
9 dl wheat flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
4 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons cocoa
3 cups milk
Melt the butter.
Beat eggs and sugar for a light and airy eggnog.
Mix all the dry ingredients and stir them into the eggnog together with the melted butter.
Add the milk and stir everything into a smooth dough.
Pour the batter into a cake pan and bake it in the middle of the oven for 30-35 minutes on 190 degrees preheated oven. After about 15 minutes switch to 175-180 degrees, and finish the bake.
Light cake base
Light base which is very for cake decorated with fondant/sugar paste.
The cake is 20 cm in diameter and can be divided into three bases. Remember that all ingredients should be at room temperature
250 g sugar
125 g liquid margarine / melted and cooled margarine
1¼ cups milk
250 g wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla sugar
Preheat oven to 170 degrees
Beat sugar, margarine, eggs and milk well.
Fold the flour, vanilla sugar and baking powder into the batter with a spatula or a spoon. Not for long.
Grease a baking pan and cover with baking paper
Pour the batter in the baking pan and bake at 170 degrees in a conventional heat for about 35-40 minutes.
